MEDICAL PASTE FILLER

Objective
To fill a very light fluffy paste into tube with a high degree of accuracy.
Problem
Testing determined that bottom up lift was necessary in order to cosmetically fill
the tube, making a traditional Fill-by-weight set-up an
unviable solution; however, the customer's accuracy needs demanded weight verification,
rather than volumetric filling.

Solution
Per-Fil supplied the Micro-filler with a bottom up lift fill mechanism; We ALSO supplied a high resolution scale mounted beside the filler for the operator to place tub, after fill cycle. The weight of the filled tube is taken and feed back to filler for automatic adjustment of fill counts.

ROTATING
DRUM FORMER AND DISPENSER
|
|
Objective
To FORM and dispense portions of cooked rice, IQF
vegetables and chunky meat pieces onto plates and trays.
Problem
The fill accuracy and quality standards required precise
dispensing and placement of the cooked and frozen food
products. The equipment had to be approved for operation in
a USDA food processing plant.

Solution
Design and build a ROTATING DRUM DISPENSER with positive
product ejection. The multi-station dispenser is equipped
with shaped pockets, which are filled at a vertical up
position. After the drum rotates 180 degrees, the product is
positively ejected by means of a piston. The dispenser
overhangs the single, or dual lane plate line and operates
in a high humidity environment. Cleaning and sanitizing was
done by steam and caustic solution.

WOOD DOUGH & GLAZING COMPOUND PACKLINE
|
|
Objective
To fill wood dough and glazing compound into ½ pint, pint, quart, and gallon containers.
Problem
Glazing Compound is extremely viscous (1,500,000 cps) and flammable. Multiple container sizes required changeover of filler, lid dropper and closer in less than 2 hours.
Solution
PER-FIL supplied our Model PF-23H Single Head automatic In-Line Filler utilizing
Hydraulic Drive Motor. The equipment was manufactured to meet Class 1, Division I explosion proof specifications and featured "submarine" gauges on the control box. Hand knobs and hand wheels were
used to speed up product changeovers.

TONER AND DEVELOPER PACKLINE
|
|
Objective
To fill toner and developer products into various cartridges and bottles, improving fill speed and accuracy over customer’s existing equipment.
Problem
New bulk handling, filling, weighing and capping equipment must fit into existing plant space while improving output. Additional concerns were accuracy and cleanliness of fill.
Solution
Using PER-FIL Model MF-3I Three Spindle Toner Filler, the customer was able to fill three containers simultaneously in the same space he was previously able to fill one container. The ported tooling with dust removal termination provided clean fills with accuracy of + 1%. The dual lane indexing conveyor with cross pusher station eliminated the customer’s racetrack conveyor and freed up valuable floor space to allow for easier movement of materials into and out of the packaging room.
